Meet the Team: Richard Newton
Meet our Financial Adviser and Aged Care Specialist, Richard Newton, who works out of our Rockhampton Office. Listen to Richard’s insights into financial planning in an interview with Penny Farrell, General Manager of Soundbridge.
Richard is an Electrician by trade, and has held his contractor’s licence for over 25 years.
He has owned his own electrical company, and run major electrical businesses turning over $15M/YR throughout his career.
He also has experience in the Hospitality Industry, and has owned Pubs, running up to 3 at any one time, from Karumba in the Gulf of Carpentaria to the Gold & Sunshine Coasts.
He has been in retail, owning a Big Box Sports Store in Cairns. This business was hit heavily by the 2008 GFC and he really took a massive hit in his own personal finances. This forced him to re-evaluate what he needed to do to get back on his feet.

Richard has a Graduate Diploma in Project Management and Maintenance Management from Central Qld Uni, and a Diploma in Financial Planning, with Margin Loan and SMSF accreditation.
